Friends of Swedish Railway Museum
Friends of Swedish Railway Museum (Järnvägsmusei Vänner) was founded in 1985 in connection with Railway Museum Days. The association is intended for everyone who likes trains and railways, history, technology, the environment, and societal development. Friends of Swedish Railway Museum’s primary source of income is membership dues, and the association has contributed a number of different purchases for the Railway Museum over the years.
Friends of Swedish Railway Museum helps the museum in its efforts to care for, preserve and develop the unique historical railway collections. Members can be active or supporting, for example by participating in the renovation of various railway exhibits, guided tours and other volunteer efforts. The association also has a section called Gävle Model Railway (Gävle modelljärnväg). There, members build model railways in H0 scale.

Membership dues
The membership dues for 2024 are SEK 495 regular members and SEK 50 for other family members. Young people up to the age of 20 pay SEK 100 and have the same membership privileges as adults.
Payment is made to BG 5777-5561 or by SWISH to 123 219 4926. Enter “Ny medlem” (New member) in the message field. New members will be contacted by phone at the telephone number provided.
For members residing outside of the Nordic Region, an additional fee of SEK 100 will be charged to cover postage for the yearbook Spår. If paying from outside Sweden, please pay to Bank account: IBAN SE21 8000 0810 3498 3986 2324. BIC: SWEDSESS
