The Swedish Railway Museum’s archive is made up of several exciting archives. Most of the archives are listed and searchable in the national archive database; see the link below.

The archives consist of fragments from the archives of individual railways, while the main archive of the individual railways is found at the National Archives. However, the archive of Trafikaktiebolaget Grängesberg-Oxelösund's Järnvägar (TGOJ) is found at the Swedish Railway Museum.  We even have some small and large personal archives.

We also have the archives of some associations, including Svenska Järnvägsföreningen and Svenska Järnvägarnas Arbetsgivareförening.

In addition, we have the archive of Trafikrestauranger AB, a subsidiary of SJ that handled food on trains.

Our archive also contains an extensive collection of timetables, including issues of the timetable publication Sveriges Kommunikationer for passenger services, SJ service timetables used by train crew, and timetables of individual railways. We also have an almost complete collection of graphic timetables.

For techies, we have different types of records, such as boiler, repair and modification records kept on steam locomotives, railcars, diesel locomotives and electric locomotives. For railway wagons and carriages, we also have wagon/carriage records. In addition, we have a large selection of Maskinbyrån’s drawings in digitised form.
