By car

Parking in the immediate vicinity of the museum is limited. A large extra car park is opened when there are many visitors. The entrance to this extra car park can be found along the fence at Rälsgatan 3. Free parking every day during our opening hours. Along Rälsgatan, it is allowed to park on both sides around the clock, even along the cycle path. This is a good place for those who come by bus or motorhome.

Special parking permit holders

Parking for those with a special parking permit is available in front of the Swedish Railway Museum entrance.

Electric vehicle chargers

Four electric vehicle chargers are available in front of the Swedish Railway Museum entrance. Scan the QR code and start changing.

To the Train Hall

The train hall is located in a different part of Gävle than the museum, and it is close to the hospital, in the northwestern part, on Karlsborgsgatan 1. The easiest way to get to the Train Hall is with the Railway Museum's Rail Bus. Walking to the Train Hall from Gävle Central takes about 25 minutes. If you drive, there is a limited number of parking spaces. It is also possible to park on Karlsborgsgatan, but then there is a parking fee.
