Planning your visit

If you are the accompanying personal assistant or companion of a visitor with a disability, your admission to the museum is free of charge.
Guide dogs and other service dogs are welcome.
Disabled parking is available outside the main entrance, with a total of three spaces.

During your visit

Lifts are available to all floors of the museum building.
Pathways are available throughout the museum.
Toilets accessible to all are located at the restaurant.
The Skandiapilen train, where visitors can eat packed lunches, is wheelchair accessible.
A wheelchair is available for borrowing via the reception desk inside the museum.
A hearing loop is available in the conference room.
The vehicles of the museum are old and built according to the standards of their time. Unfortunately, they are not adapted for accessibility.
The Ångpannan restaurant is wheelchair accessible.
The Ångpannan restaurant offers gluten-free and lactose-free dishes.

Information on ticket purchases and queues

Tickets to the Swedish Railway Museum can be purchased on site at the museum’s ticket office or online.
The museum has many visitors during the peak season, May–September. This may result in queues at the museum. There are usually more visitors at our opening time and around lunchtime.
The queues tend to decrease in the afternoons.
During the off-peak season, queues may form at weekends and school holidays. There is usually a shorter queue or no queue at all in the afternoons.
